What I Got for the First $100 Costco Meat Challenge
Yesterday I kicked off a new series where I buy $100 worth of meat from Costco. Here’s what I got for the first round!
Yesterday I announced I will be doing a $100 Costco Meat Challenge! On each trip to Costco, I’ll plan to spend $100 on meat and then show you how I use it — and how far I can stretch that amount.
For this first round, I made a rule: I had to pick at least one of each of the following:
1 type of seafood
1 type of pork
1 type of beef
1 type of chicken
1 type of sausage
Want to see what I got?
Chicken Drumsticks
Beef Back Ribs (first time buying them from Costco)
Fresh Rockfish (See my blog post about this type of fish)
Whole Boneless Pork Loin (Check out my post on how I cut up a pork loin)
Pork Tenderloin (2-Pack comes with 4 tenderloin)
Caramelized Sweet Onion Beef sausage (first time trying)
The total came to around $100, it was some cents over, I wasn’t going to be that picky!
As I use this meat, I will show you what I made with it and how many meals I got from it for my family of 6.
PLEASE NOTE: As I continue this series, I’ll be creating specific lists for those who don’t eat certain types of meat. For example, if you don’t eat pork, I’ll include alternative combos that also total $100. That way, everyone can try the challenge in a way that works for them.
Which are you most excited to hear me talk about?
