How to Cook the Perfect Costco Ham for Your Easter Feast!
Are you getting your ham for Easter from Costco? Let me share you with you some tips on how I prepare the hams that Costco offers.
Hey everyone!
It’s been a while since I last sent out a newsletter. Sadly, we’ve been without a Costco membership since last summer, so I haven’t had anything new to share until we can renew.
But I thought I’d pop into your inbox to share some helpful tips from the blog on cooking hams from Costco—something I’ve done many times in the past. If you’re planning a holiday meal or just love a good ham, I hope these come in handy!
The two major types of ham that Costco has been carrying for years are it’s Master Carve Ham and it’s Spiral Ham, I have bought both of these before and haven’t enjoyed both of them. Both of these hams are easy to carve or slice.
Costco ditched the glaze that use to come with the Master Carve ham so I created my own ham glaze recipe for it many years back. One big benefit of this ham is that it you can use all the meat, there is very little to no waste. I do miss having a bone to make soup with.
When I cook a spiral ham I go with a low & slow method so that I can slowly reheat the ham so it doesn’t dry out. That is the concern I hear the most with a spiral ham. If you slowly heat it up, then the outside doesn’t get dried out while the middle of the ham is still cold.
If you are looking for some last minute ideas of side dishes to serve with your ham, I have a post full of ideas of What Sides to Serve with Ham.
I would love to hear from you. What are you making for Easter this year?
