Updated Costco Chicken Buying Guide
Sharing with you today, my updated guide to buying chicken at Costco in 2025.
Happy Saturday everyone! Today I am sharing about my latest update to my meat guides - Costco Chicken Price Per Pound 2025.
Unlike beef prices that have been continually on the rise, the price of chicken has remained pretty much the same, make it an affordable protein option. Costco is a great place for buying chicken. They package it in a way where it’s very easy to freeze.
One thing you may have noticed on the packages of Kirkland chicken is that they are often “Air Chilled”. What does that mean? Check out my blog post that explains How Air Chilled Chicken is Different?

We stopped buying Costco chicken a couple years ago after reading the package ingredients on the pulled chicken that is sold from the butcher area. It contains Carrageenan and we avoid anything with that as it is a carcinogenic. It seems ridiculous that Costco chickens are injected with carrageenan. It seems deceptive to be plumping up the chickens with cancer causing ingredients.
